The Basics: Parts of the Rubik's Cube

There are three main parts to the Rubik's Cube:

  • The Centre Piece: This is the innermost core of the entire cube. It contains the middle pieces of each side of the cube (6 in total). All other pieces revolve around it.
  • The Corners: There are eight pieces of these. Each occupies a corner of the cube, and each has a specific combination of 3 different colours.
  • The Edges: There are twelve pieces of these. They fill the gaps between the Corners, and each has a specific combination of 2 different colours.
